FIRST LADY OF IMO STATE COMMENDS GOVERNOR UZODIMMA FOR SIGNING VAPP BILL INTO LAW

  • News

My birthday started on a very good note, I have received so many beautiful messages and wishes but the news which fills me with the greatest joy is the signing of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) bill into law by my dear husband, the Executive Governor of Imo State, H.E. Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma.

This decision further demonstrates the 3R Administration’s commitment to proactively protecting the State’s most vulnerable people. The VAPP bill aims to eliminate and prevent all forms of violence against vulnerable people; particularly women and girls, as well as to provide maximum protection and effective remedies for victims in our dear Imo State.

In that regard, I would like to extend special thanks to members of the Imo State House of Assembly and other CSOs, including the Ministry of Women Affairs and Vulnerable Groups and various bodies for their unwavering support, dedication and advocacy in making this possible.

My deepest desire moving forward is for various Law Enforcement Agencies, National Organisations and Individuals to keep working together as we eliminate this form of violence in our communities.

H.E. Barr. Chioma Uzodimma
First Lady, Imo State and Founder, GoodHope Flourish Foundation.
