
The Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, has launched the Skill-Up Imo Project, which will educate and empower 100,000 Imo Youths in areas like digital marketing, web and app development, content creation, basic data analytics, graphics design, phone and other digital device repairs, programming, cyber security and many more.
This follows through with the governor’s five-point strategy, which includes using technology to its fullest potential to ensure the state’s economic sustainability.
Governor Hope Uzodimma, urged the youths to seize the opportunities provided by digital skills training for the establishment of their businesses.
The governor revealed that reputable international organizations, including Zinox, are collaborating with the government by providing trainers and other resources for the training.
Earlier, Dr. Chimezie Amadi, the commissioner for the digital economy and e-government, revealed that the Skill-up Imo Project is one of the strategic initiatives of Governor Hope Uzodimma. It was created especially to offer free training and support to 100,000 Imolites, especially the youth, in new innovative and industry 4.0 skills-set that equips them to be productively employed or self-employed.
The Deputy Governor, Professor Placid Njoku and the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emeka Nduka; Chief Cosmas Iwu, Secretary to the Government; Chief of Staff, Sir Nnamdi Anyaehie and members of the expanded State Executive Council were present.
